Honda 150SS RACER Concept Unveiled

- Attractive, muscular design on new Honda concept
- Powered by a 150 cc engine
- No word on whether a production model is planned
If you are someone taken in by the looks of the Honda Navi, then this one certainly should interest you - the Honda 150SS RACER Concept. Just like the hugely successful Honda Grom, which was the inspiration for the Navi, Honda Thailand have unveiled a mini-bike with hints of café racer styling at the Bangkok motor show. The design is neo-retro in the truest sense, with Honda cleverly mixing modern design elements with the traditional. As the name suggests, the 150SS RACER is powered by a 150 cc engine, although technical details aren't available at this stage.

It's still not clear whether the 150SS RACER will see production anytime soon, but going by the global success of the Grom, we won't be surprised to see this 150SS RACER in production form in a year or two, but without some expensive hi-end bits seen on the concept. The huge carbon disc wheels, upside-down forks and carbon fenders will almost certainly be given a miss. The round headlight adds a retro touch and the heavily sculpted tank adds additional muscle.

The turn indicators are mounted on a crevice on the fuel tank, and there's a gyro cam at the rear. And the low mounted megaphone exhaust adds more character to the muscular style of the RACER. The big question is - whether Honda will actually develop this concept further? Going by the success of the Honda Grom, not only in South East Asian markets, but globally, the 150SS RACER should do quite well in Honda's future product-line. We sure hope there are plans of developing a production model, and hopefully see it launched here in India as well.
