Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India 'Cautiously Optimistic' About 2015

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) remains "cautiously optimistic" about 2015 as it believes that policy measures like continuation of excise duty relief and government support to rural areas would act as a catalyst for growth next year.

"We are cautiously optimistic for 2015. Policy decisions on issues like 4 per cent excise duty relief and government support to rural ecosystem which will go a big way in boosting sales and improve the industry sentiments paving the way for the next year," HMSI Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Y S Guleria said in a statement.
The company, which plans to launch a mix of 10 refreshed and all new products in 2015, has sold 29,49,850 two-wheeler units so far in the current fiscal (April-November), a growth of 25 per cent over the same period of previous year.
"2014 marked the start of new era for Honda in India. We have a made a good start. Honda grew at 25 per cent in this fiscal year and gained customer trust in 2014," HMSI President & CEO, Keita Muramatsu said.
Next year, Honda will launch more than 10 refreshed models and all new products, starting from the CB Unicorn 160cc in January, he added.
"Aggressively making inroads in rural India and strengthening the wing mark will be the key focus," Muramatsu said.
