Understand the size of your head

This is because a large helmet will cause your head to move, and your head will not stay in a place, whereas a too-small helmet will put stress on the wrong parts of your head. Choose the best size as per your head fit. Also, you can go for a customised helmet if your head size is not available in the market.

Bike helmet compatibility
Bike helmet compatibility is not very straightforward. You can't just say that my size is, for example, XL. Each brand has different sizes, and even within the same brand, some might have higher padding, and some might have less padding. Therefore, the compatibility as per your head will depend on the hit and trial method. You can't just order a helmet online expecting the correct size. To stay safe, you must learn to choose a helmet with adequate vents for air circulation. The location of vents varies depending on the manufacturer. Select the one that appears to offer the most breathing room. Examine whether they can be closed, which may be necessary during the monsoon and winter.
Visor
Full-face helmets include face shields or visors. Many motorcyclists in India tend to keep their face shields open. The reasoning they give is that it hampers visibility. This is precisely the reason that you should check the visor properly. You should be able to see the road clearly, and therefore you should choose carefully. Also, stay away from dark tainted or smoky visors. The main thing is visibility and safety.
