Important Aspects of Checking Your Car Tyres

- The rubber used in tires is initially white
- Water in the tires could be a problem
- Tires can last up to five years if maintained properly.
Tires are crucial components that dictate the way cars move. If the pressure inside the tire is not up to the mark or there are some damages on the tyre, that could lead to uneven grip on the road or unfortunate accidents. Certain things should be kept in mind when checking tyres and how often those tires should be checked. Let us figure those out!

Making it a habit
The best thing for tire maintenance is checking the tires as a habit. Once a month, just make a visual inspection and check the tire pressure. Look for any foreign elements on the tread, bald spots, or uneven wear on the tire. Run the fingers over the tread, and it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.
Foreign substances
The foreign substances can depend greatly on where the car commonly travels or where the car is parked often. Often small pieces of rocks nails stick to the tread causing damage to the tires. Make sure to remove them as soon as possible.

Checking the pressure
If the tyre is overinflated or underinflated, the tires would not be able to make a proper grip on the road leading to accidents. Ensure that the pressure inside the tyre is up to the limit set by the manufacturer. Maintaining the perfect pressure affects the fuel economy and various other aspects of car maintenance.
When the tyre is underinflated, unnecessary tire failure occurs when in motion. Overinflated tires lead to tire wear way more often.
Other tire problems
Small irregularities, like going over a pothole or speeding over speed bumps, could lead to cracks in the inner linings. Conducting regular inspections could prevent something like a sidewall bubble rupturing at any point when the vehicle is in motion, and that could lead to accidents.
Checking the spare tire
This is one of the most overlooked parts of tire maintenance. People tend not to pay much attention to the spare tyre. It would be a disaster if a vehicle is stuck in the middle of nowhere and even the spare tyre is worn out. Like regular inspection of normal tires, just run the fingers over the tread and make sure the tire is fully inflated. If not, just get the tire refilled for any future use.

Contacting a professional
If any abnormalities are seen on the tyres, make sure to contact a professional as soon as possible. Get the tyres checked, and then the professional can say if the tyre can be repaired or replaced. The tire should be checked during car servicing so that any major accidents can be diverted.
