Jaguar I-Pace Spotted Testing, To Be Unveiled At Geneva Motor Show

- Jaguar previewed the I-Pace all-electric concept in November last year
- The Jaguar I-Pace will debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show
- The I-Pace is a five seat sports car and a performance SUV
Jaguar previewed the I-Pace all-electric concept almost a year back. Since then, the I-Pace all-electric SUV has been spotted on multiple occasions. With a debut slated for at the Geneva Motor Show, the I-Pace was recently spotted at a charging station in UK near the Millbrook test facility. The spy images show that the Tesla Model X rival is almost ready for production as it was left alone during the entire period of charging, with heavy camouflage of course. The Jaguar I-Pace SUV is said to be "a no-compromise smart, five seat sports car and a performance SUV in one."

The low bonnet, flanked by curving wheel arches, combines sports car aesthetics with an SUV's presence. A broad, distinctive grille with a hexagonal grid in gloss black retains a key element of Jaguar design DNA. The long wheelbase and short overhangs enable a coupe-like roofline. The cabin sits low between sweeping fenders, creating a sense of movement and giving the body a fast, tapering waistline. The dynamic window lines further enhance the sports car looks.

The muscular wheel arches are sculpted around breathtaking 23-inch Nighthawk wheels in Technical Grey with Gloss Black inserts and a beautiful diamond-turned finish. The powerful rear haunches add to the muscular stance, further enhancing its sports car-like poise. The sharp styling of the I-Pace's rear provides a clear indication of the vehicle's dynamic potential and efficiency. The LED tail lamps, while similar to those on other Jaguar models, square off the roundel graphic for an edgier and more technical look. A broad, high-mounted LED stop lamp is integrated invisibly beneath the spoiler, visible only when the driver brakes.

The Jaguar I-Pace has electric motors on the front and rear axles. Their combined output is 394 bhp and 700Nm of torque. The state-of-the-art electric motors and 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack were designed in-house by Jaguar Land Rover. For rapid charging, using a typical public 50 KW DC charging network, a full charge will take just over 2 hours, enough to deliver more than 500 km range.
