Jeep India's First Dealership Inaugurated In Ahmedabad; 9 More Planned
- The Ahmedabad outlet is Jeep's first Destination Store across India
- The outlets will sell the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee & Grand Cherokee SRT
- Jeep officially commenced operations in India on August 31
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India commenced their domestic operations just last week and today inaugurated the country's first Jeep Destination Store in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Jeep dealership is being operated by Concept Motorcar Pvt. Ltd., and is the first of the 10 outlets that the company plans to open in the country by the end of this year. The showroom will be retailing all three Jeep models - Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee SRT and Wrangler Unlimited.
At the inauguration of the Ahmedabad Jeep Destination Store, Mr Kevin Flynn, President and Managing Director, Jeep India said, "We have been noting the growing interest around the Jeep Brand among customers in Ahmedabad. Many have been contacting us, inquiring about bookings and deliveries of the iconic Jeep Wrangler and the luxurious Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I am pleased to be able to deliver to their enthusiasm today, with the launch of our first Jeep Destination Store in this fast-growing metropolis."

The Jeep Destination Store is spread in a 7500 sq.ft. space and is located on the Ground Floor of Ganesh Meredian, opposite Kargil Petrol Pump on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway. Apart from car sales, the showroom will also offer Jeep branded merchandise and accessories. The outlet is complemented by a 12,000 sq.ft. workshop facility located in Sanand. As part of its retail strategy, the company plans to provide the 'Jeep' off-roading experience to customers in Gujarat, in bid to make connect customers with the American brand, while also showcasing the SUV's capabilities.
In addition, Jeep is working offer a relaxed ownership experience to its customers and is offering a 2 year, unlimited mileage manufacturer's warranty as standard on both SUVs. The warranty comes with international coverage and is transferrable to the second owner. The automaker is also offering 'Jeep Assist' - a 24x7 helpline and roadside assistance programme, as part of the warranty coverage.

In fact, in the event of a breakdown or accidents, customers will be provided with a return journey Business Class flight tickets or a hotel stay as part of the programme. Those who wish to avail the services beyond the two-year limit, can opt for the extended warranty as well.
With prices starting at Rs. 71.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), Jeep's pricing strategy has been questionable, but the company certainly is looking to pamper its customers. That said, the company is planning a compact SUV as well which is targeted at emerging markets like Central America and China and will be unveiled later this month. Now here's the interesting part, the upcoming Jeep C-SUV will be locally produced at the company's Ranjangaon facility, so expect prices to be significantly lower.
Jeep's next set of Destination Stores will be inaugurated later in the year starting with Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh Kochi and Bengaluru.
