JK Tyre Reveals New Range Of Electric Vehicle Specific Tyres

- New range of smart tyres targeted at passenger and commercial vehicles
- Designed and developed in-house at the company's R&D centre in India
- Company to supply new range of tyres to JBM for electric buses
JK Tyre has revealed a new range of electric vehicle-specific radial tyres for commercial and passenger vehicles. The company says that the new range was designed and developed at its state-of-the-art global technology centre in India and has been engineered “, especially to the unique needs of electric mobility. The new radial tyre range is available for passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses and has been designed to offer greater traction while minimising rolling resistance and energy consumption. The company also says that the tread pattern on the tyres has been crafted to offer lower noise and improved wear characteristics. The tyres also come equipped with the company's in-house developed tyre pressure monitoring sensors.

Speaking on the new development, V K Misra, Technical Director, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. said, “With the evolution of the EV sector in India, the development of EV-oriented technology remains a key focus for the company. Our Smart tyres are developed with EV specific next Gen Design philosophy making the entire range Smarter, Quieter, Durable and Energy Efficient.”
The company said its new range of tyres would be available in 17.5-inch and 22.5-inch sizes for commercial vehicles with the company already set to supply units to JBM for its electric buses.
