Maserati MCPura Unveiled At Goodwood Festival of Speed

- Gets a revised front bumper.
- Continues to be powered by the Nettuno V6 engine.
- To be offered in both convertible (Cielo) and coupe derivatives.
Maserati has just rolled out an update for its MC20 sports car, renaming it the MCPura in the process. Showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the main changes on the MCPura over its predecessor include a few minor cosmetic changes. Aside from that, the model remains mechanically identical to the MC20, continuing to be powered by the Nettuno V6 engine. As before the MCPura will also be offered in both convertible (Cielo) and coupe derivatives.

On the cosmetic front, the most visible change is the revised front bumper that Maserati claims improves the car's aerodynamic efficiency. The colour palette for the car has also been updated, and it is now offered in a range of new colours. The MCPura also rides on new alloy wheels which look quite different from the ones on the older model. The interior, while identical in layout, now features Alcantara laser-etched seats.

The MCPura remains identical to the MC20 on the mechanical front
At the heart of the MC20 is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine that churns out 621 bhp and 730 Nm of torque. The engine utilises dual spark plugs for each cylinder. The engine is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The car can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 325 kmph. The MC20 has four driving modes, i.e. Sports, Corsa, GT and Wet. With a carbon fibre monocoque, the weight of the MC20 is less than 1500 kg.
