MV Agusta Releases RVS Teaser Video

MV Agusta has just released a new teaser video. The video doesn't reveal much but shows a machinist etching out the letters 'RVS' on a thick aluminium plate. So, what is the teaser video about? The "RVS" stands for "Reparto Veicoli Speciali" which translates to "Special Vehicles Department" in English. The video does show the silhouette of a custom-looking Brutale in the end, so the "Special Vehicles Department" could well be MV Agusta's new factory custom department. We're not sure as yet, what "RVS" will eventually mean for MV Agusta.

From the looks of it, the custom Brutale in the teaser video has on-road/off-road tyres and that indicates that MV Agusta may be getting into the current rage amongst motorcycle manufacturers of designing a Scrambler based on the Brutale. The other possibility is that "Special Vehicles Department" could well be a full-fledged factory custom department. MV Agusta has been dabbling in custom motorcycles in the past, as recently as releasing the MV Agusta F4Z last year.
The "RVS" could help kit out existing MV Agusta models with livery and equipment which will be to individual customers' needs or to create limited edition 'custom' models to showcase the Italian manufacturers 'premium' brand positioning. Either ways, MV Agusta seems to be preparing to shake off financial troubles and prepare for a future to establish the brand as a leader in the ultra-premium motorcycle space. But until the company does release some concrete news about the "RVS", this is all speculation for the time being.
