Tata Motors Group Records 6 Per Cent Growth In September 2018

Tata Motors has sold 123,577 units of vehicles globally in September 2018 witnessing a growth of 6 per cent. The sales numbers include Tata Motors passenger vehicles, Tata Motors commercial vehicles and Jaguar Land Rover. Global wholesale at Tata Motors passenger vehicle division were down by 4 per cent at 71,559 units while the commercial vehicle division sales grew by 25 per cent selling 52,018 units. Sales of Jaguar Land Rover in the same month stood at 52,987 units which include 4853 units of Cherry Jaguar Land Rover (CJLR), JLR's China joint venture. Precisely, 18,876 units of Jaguar were sold and Land Rover sales stood at 34,111 units.

    Mercedes-Benz Sales Drop Marginally In Jan-Sept 2018
    Mercedes-Benz India has recorded a marginal drop in sales in the first nine months of this year. The Stuttgart based luxury carmaker sold 11,789 units in the January-September period this year against 11,869 units which it sold in the same period last year, witnessing a de-growth of 0.67 per cent. However, Mercedes-Benz remains India's largest luxury carmaker selling 3,874 units more than BMW which holds the second spot. The long-wheelbase E-Class continued to be the best selling model for Mercedes-Benz in India, followed by the pre-facelift C-Class.

    Following up with its announcement to introduce electric vehicles in India by 2020, Maruti Suzuki flagged off electric vehicles for field testing in India.
