Mahindra has launched the new Bolero MaXX Pik-Up City 3000 in India with prices starting at Rs 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom). The company says that the MaXX will spawn a range of pick-up trucks of its own with the City 3000 being the first model. Additionally, the carmaker says that the MaXX has been developed with intra-city operations in mind while also focusing on aspects such as connectivity and ergonomics. Mahindra also says that the Bolero MaXX City is certified to carry three occupants in a single row of seating. The Bolero MaXX City 3000 is available in three variants - City 3000, City 3000 LX and City 3000 VXI.
In terms of design, the City 3000 is easily recognisable as a Bolero from the front though it does get some defining design elements such as the bolder contrast finished grille, tweaked bumper and redesigned headlamps with cornering function. The cabin design too is new with the fully-loaded City 3000 packing in a touchscreen infotainment system with telematics functions, a new digital instrument cluster. Additionally, the top variant also gets a height-adjustable driver seat - a feature the company says it incorporated into the pick-up based on feedback and perception.
The MaXX comes with a complimentary 1 year subscription to the company's new iMaXX telematics solution offering features such as lie vehicle tracking, geo fencing, vehicle health tracking, route planning, fuel log and a document wallet. Mahindra says that the City 3000 has a load carrying capacity of up to 1300kg courtesy in part to a 1700mm wide cargo-bed - claimed to be widest in the segment.
Coming to the engine, Mahindra has employed its tried and tested 2.5-litre m2Di unit from the pik-up range in the Bolero MaXX with the unit good for 65 bhp and 195 Nm. Suspension duties are handled by leaf springs at the front and rear. A 3 year 1 lakh km warranty cover is standard with the Pik-Up having a service interval of 20,000km.
