Next-Gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire Showcased; Launch Date Announced

- The 3rd gen Swift Dzire will be launched on 16th May, 2017
- The engine variants on the 3rd gen Dzire remain the same as earlier
- The bookings for the 3rd gen Dzire will start from first week of May
Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new-generation Dzire subcompact sedan in India on the 16th of May 2017. The company recently unveiled the sketch of the car and now the company has showcased it in India ahead of its launch next month. According to the company, "The new Dzire is designed to leave a lasting impression with its rich sculpted side body and enhanced proportions." and we can see that in the way it has evolved as a product. From a car that looked as if it had been punched in the boot, to a well proportionate sedan coupled with looks that demand a second look, the Dzire has come a long way. Maruti Suzuki also revealed that the bookings for the Dzire will begin from the 1st week of May. Here is everything that you need to know about the new-generation Dzire. The company has also done away with the 'Swift' name and will now go with only the 'Dzire' brand.
(New Generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire-dashboard)The front is similar to that of the new generation Swift hatchback, but gets more chrome added to appeal to Indian tastes, while the C-pillar now integrates more seamlessly into the boot of the car. The Dzire now gets LED DRLs and it complements the look of the car. If you thought the exterior was fantastic, well the cabin is no different. The third generation Maruti Swift Dzire receives a more upmarket cabin. Inside, we'll see a dual-tone finished dashboard, faux-wood inserts, beige upholstery with more premium fabric used for the seats. There's also a flat-bottom steering wheel, something which we had seen on the new-gen Swift, and an all-new twin-pod instrument console. There's also a touchscreen infotainment system with Android CarPlay and Android Auto which is a big leap in terms of features.
(New Generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire-Rear)The engine options on the new Swift Dzire will remain unchanged and it will continue to use the tried and tested 1.2 litre K-Series petrol and 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engines under the hood. The Dzire will be retailed out of the regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships and will be produced at the company's Manesar factory. The new generation of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire will likely be a little more expensive than the outgoing version but even if the company manages to keep the price difference at around Rs. 20,000, we think it has a winner on its hands.
