Ola Electric To Open Final Payment Window On January 21 For Customers Who've Paid Rs. 20,000

- Ola Electric will open the purchase window on January 21 at 6 pm
- Deliveries will begin by the end of this month spilling into February
- Ola is yet to accept fresh bookings for the S1 electric scooter
Ola Electric has announced that it will open the final payment window on January 21, 2022, at 6 pm, for all customers who have already paid Rs. 20,000 to reserve the S1 Pro. Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO - Ola Electric, confirmed the development in a tweet, along with special wishes on the auspicious occasion of Lohri, Sankranti and Pongal. The update comes as customers have been waiting to get their hands on the electric scooter amidst multiple delays. Customers who make the final payment on January 21 will receive the Ola S1 Pro by the end of the month or in February, Aggarwal added. The company is yet to announce dates for accepting fresh bookings.

Ola Electric commenced deliveries of the S1 Pro in December this year and announced it had already shipped over 4,000 units to customers. However, a larger set of customers are yet to receive the scooters due to delays in the RTO registration process. The company though did not disclose the total number of units sold so far. As per the Vahan database, about 476 vehicles have been registered so far in 2022, while about 238 vehicles were registered in December 2021. That's a fraction of the 4,000 units shipped to customers.

Ola has been improving its production numbers to address the growing demand
Interestingly, Ola Electric automatically upgraded customers who booked the S1 to the S1 Pro. Priced Rs. 30,000 apart, customers benefit from the bigger 3.97 kWh battery on the S1 Pro as opposed to the 2.98 kWh battery on the standard S1. However, customers will have to pay the difference amount to unlock the software features and range.
