Renault Kwid Waiting Period Goes Up to 6 Months

Things that helped the Renault Kwid get traction are its aggressive pricing, class-leading fuel-efficiency and a crossover-like design. Launched in the price range of Rs 2.56 lakh - Rs 3.53 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Kwid received over 25,000 bookings within a week of its launch though the deliveries began this month only.

For people not in the know, Renault Kwid is available in four variants - Standard, RxE, RxL and RxT - powered by a 0.8-litre,3-cylinder engine. Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine churns out a maximum power output of 53bhp and a peak torque of 72Nm.

The company has plans to also bring in a more powerful version of the hatchback, which might feature a 1000cc petrol engine with an automated manual transmission (AMT).

Renault, the French car manufacturer is currently working on all-new subcompact SUV for the Indian market.
