Simple Energy Reveals New Details Of Battery Management System

- Company says its 10kW system can be deployed in multiple models
- System is also compact enough to leave space for other components
- Patented tech claims to allow for fast charging without battery deg
Simple Energy has shared some new details on its battery management system (BMS). The company has claimed that its technology has allowed the company to achieve 95 percent efficiency out of the electric powertrain of the Simple One electric scooter allowing it to achieve a real world range of over 200km. Speaking about the company's BMS system Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO, Simple Energy said, "Developing a BMS from scratch was one of the best decisions we made, enabling us to have an unparalleled degree of vertical integration on the One - allowing us to eke out more range and performance than any other EV in the market. This move will also make developing future products by Simple easier."

The company says that its 10kW system is "incredibly compact" not only leaving room for application in other vehicles but also space for larger battery packs. The company also claims that its system is accurate enough to detect "changes as miniscule as 0.6mV (milli volts)" allowing for greater accuracy in charge and range estimations.
The system also features the company's patented charging protocol which is said to allow for fast charging without degrading the battery pack with the system software also allowing for improved thermal efficiency and longer sustained performance.

Simple Energy launched the One electric scooter in August last year though the company only announced earlier this year that deliveries would commence from June. Over the course of the past months, the company revealed an upgraded motor for its electric scooter allowing for improved range and introducing a second variant with an additional battery and a 300km-plus range.
The two variants of the Simple One are currently priced at 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom) for the standard model and Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom) for the variant with the additional battery.
