The Tata Tiago compact hatchback was launched in India this month at a starting price of Rs. 3.2 lakh. Tata Motors' latest product in the Indian automobile market attempts to not only draw distance from the aged Indica family, but also take on established names such as Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Hyundai i10 in the segment.

Tata Tiago Design
The Tiago is based on the XO platform and features design inputs from the carmaker's design centres in Coventry, Turin, and Pune. The hatchback flaunts a new signature honeycomb-grille with a chrome 'Humanity Line', smoked head-lamps, a new set of alloy wheels, and a refurbished rear profile.

The character line on the side profile that starts from the A-pillar and culminates into the tail-lamps adds intrigue to the Tata Tiago's character. The tiny crease on the boot also looks great.

Tata is offering a choice of 2 engine options with the Tiago, namely, a new 67bhp 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine and the 83bhp 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder VCTi Revotron petrol motor mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The automaker said it is also working on the possible addition of AMT to the Tata Tiago's line-up.
