Tata Tiago vs Maruti Celerio vs Hyundai i10: Specifications Comparison

Design and Dimensions
In terms of design, Tata Tiago looks a lot smarter and stylish compared to its competitors. Although based in the same platform as the Indica, the car's design looks fresh and its stylish exterior features add finesse to its appearance. Dimensionally the Tiago measures 3746 mm in length, 1647 mm in width, and 1535 mm in height. The wheelbase of the car is measured at 2400 mm while the ground clearance is as high as 170 mm.

On the other hand the Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with a design language that similarly modern and fresh. The Celerio also boasts some smart features along with some bold character lines that makes it the Tiago's closes competitor. Dimensionally the Celerio is slightly smaller than the Tiago in terms of length and width that measure 3600 mm and 1600 mm respectively. That said, it is marginally taller than the Tiago with a height of 1560 mm. The wheelbase of the car is also longer at 2425 mm, which means the Celerio will offers better leg room, although, there is lesser ground clearance at just 165 mm.

As for the Hyundai i10, the car is the most compact among all three models. The design now feels a little out-dated and the car lacks the style quotient that its competitors carry. Dimensionally the Hyundai i10 is 3585 mm long, 1595 mm wide and 1550 mm tall. The car has a wheelbase that goes as long as 2380 mm and has the same 165 mm ground clearance as the Celerio

Features
The interior of the Tata Tiago looks fresh and well-equipped and is a lot similar to the one seen in the Tata Zest. The car gets the same black & grey cabin with a similar dashboard design with a centre console that now comes with a glossy black finish. In terms of features the Tiago gets sport alloys, glossy black grille with the 'Humanity Line', integrated rear spoiler, and ORVMs with LED turn indicators among others. The cabin also comes with 22 smart storage spaces with ConnectNext infotainment system from Harman along with Bluetooth, AUX-IN connectivity, 3-spoke power-steering with audio and telephony controls and a first-in-class Juke car app for music playback and sharing. Safety feature include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensor among others. The exterior profile of the car comes with CICO styling, alloy wheels and ORVMs with integrated.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio has the very typical Maruti-style cabin hints of which we have seen in the Ritz and the Swift. Though the front seats are well-designed, they offer less shoulder room and the dashboard look quit simplistic. In terms of features the Celerio gets equipment like alloy wheels, fog lamps, ORVMs with turn lights. The cabin on the other hand comes with features like steering mounted audio controls, smart utility spaces, Integrated audio system with Bluetooth & Aux-In connectivity, multi-information display, and tilt adjustable steering wheel, Day night IRVM, driver-side auto down power window. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS, immobilizer and more.

The Hyundai i10 on the other hand offers features like rear combination lights, two-tone chrome grille, body color package, full wheel cover, and body colour bumpers. Inside it features a neatly laid-out cabin that comes with tilt adjustable steering wheel, comfortable upholstery, power windows, 2-Din audio system with Aux and USB ports, keyless entry and fog lamps.

Engine
The new hatchback will come with a choice of 2 engine options: a new 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine and the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder VCTi Revotron petrol motor. While the diesel engine puts out 67bhp and 140Nm of torque, the petrol unit develops 83bhp and 114Nm. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with the possibility of an AMT variant on the Tata Tiago reserved for the future.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio also comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by a 998cc 3-cylinder, K10B petrol engine that produces 67bhp of power and 90Nm of peak torque. On the other hand the oil burner gets a 793cc 2-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power of 47bhp and 125Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed gearbox as standard with an optional AMT unit in the petrol variant.
As for Hyundai i10, the car comes powered by a single 1.1-litre that churns out 68.1 Bhp and develops 99 Nm of peak torque. Currently transmission options only include a 5-speed manual gearbox.
