Tesla Launches Supercharger Stations In Africa

- Two new charging stations have been opened in Tangier and Casablanca
- Tesla neither has stores or service centers in Morocco
- Infrastructure will be critical for it as it moves into emerging markets
Tesla has launched its first-ever Supercharger station in Africa with both of them in Morocco in the northern part of the country in the cities of Tangier and Casablanca. Both the charging stations are equipped with four V2 Supercharger stalls which deliver up to 150 kW. This is despite the fact that there are no Tesla service stations and stores in Morocco. Tesla is looking at emerging markets for future growth that's why it is also looking at India, but for this to happen it needs to solve the infrastructure piece.
Tesla is expanding the Supercharger network at a very high rate at almost 3 stations per day and 26 stalls per day -- based on its Q2 2021 run rate. Overall, now it has over 3,000 stations with more than 30,000 stalls. Tesla's Superchargers are the absolute benchmark for long-distance driving when it comes down to EVs. It has also said that it will open its Supercharger network to non-Tesla electric cars.

With 56 stalls this is the largest supercharger stop in the world
In Q3, Tesla also recorded the highest amount of deliveries it has done in a quarter at 241,300 and soon will also be opening its Gigafactory in Berlin which will further ramp up its manufacturing capability. It has become the most valuable automaker in the world and has made Elon Musk one of the richest people on the planet. But at the same time, its vehicles are considered premium -- to remedy that it has come up with new battery technology that extends range, charges faster is cheaper to manufacture, and reduces dependence on rare earth minerals.
In markets like the US, Tesla has also started to deploy V3 chargers which can charge at 250 kW.
