Tesla Motors CEO Thinks Driving Will Become Illegal in a Few Years

Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk believes that at one point in the future, driving cars may become illegal, thanks to self-driving cars. He said, "In the distant future, I think people may outlaw driving cars because it's too dangerous. You can't have a person driving a two-ton death machine."
Musk later took to Twitter to further explain his remarks. He tweeted, "To be clear, Tesla is strongly in favor of people being allowed to drive their cars and always will be," he wrote. "Hopefully, that is obvious."

However, when self-driving cars become safer than human-driven cars, the public may outlaw the latter. Hopefully not.

Though such vehicles are yet to arrive, carmakers across the industry continue to invest in the development of self-driving cars. Just so you know, these cars employ cameras to view the roads, and steer themselves in accordance with the visual input.
The American electric car maker also recently launched a new 'autopilot' self-driving mode for its Model S sedan - which is basically a sophisticated version of cruise control. As the company awaits more relevant technology to arrive in the industry, Musk is convinced that it will take greater control of, at least, highway-driving soon.
