Top 5 Highlights: Honda CB500X

The 2021 Honda CB500X middleweight adventure bike was launched in the Indian market in March 2021. Priced at Rs. 6,87,386 (ex-showroom, Gurugram), the bike comes to India as a completely knocked down (CKD) unit. The Honda CB500X is offered in two colours - Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. The road-biased adventure tourer can be booked through Honda's Big Wing and Big Wing Topline dealership network. The CB500X offers a more accessible and approachable option into the world of adventure touring.

Here are the highlights of the 2021 Honda CB500X:

1. The Honda CB500X gets a typical adventure tourer styling, with an upright stance, tall windscreen, and stubby front beak. It gets a diamond-shaped steel tube frame that is tied to the engine with four mounts, to minimize vibrations.

2. It comes equipped with the Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) that detects sudden braking and automatically activates the front and rear hazard lights, which flash to warn other vehicles on the road. The bike also gets the brand's Ignition Security System (HISS), which is an anti-theft feature.

3. The motorcycle also gets a negative display LCD instrument console with features like gear position indicator, engine temperature indicator, ABS indicator, odometer, speedometer and tachometer, more.

4. The Honda CB500X is powered by an 8-valve, liquid-cooled, 471 cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine which is tuned to put out 47 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 43.2 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is refined and gets a slick-shifting 6-speed gearbox, aided by an assist-and-slipper clutch.

5. Suspension duties are handled by a long-stroke 41 mm fork and a Honda Pro-Link rear suspension with 9-stage spring preload adjustment. Braking is handled by a single 310 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc, both drilled petal-styled discs with dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) as standard.
