Toyota Etios Cross and Corolla facelift coming by mid 2014

In a a bid to enhance its market share in the Indian car market, Toyota is planning to launch a couple of new and facelifted products by mid 2014. While the first to enter the market will be the Etios Cross - a more rugged-looking version of the Etios Liva hatchback, the 2014 Corolla facelift too will be launched around the same time. Though, the company hasn't yet announced the launch date of both the cars, we are expecting them to be launched by May or June, this year. While the official bookings for the Etios Cross has already commenced, Toyota dealers across the nation have started taking pre-orders for the 2014 Corolla Altis facelift as well.

As mentioned above, the Etios Cross is a sportier and more rugged version of the Etios Liva hatchback. The Cross features a new grille with a guard, unique side cladding, fog lamps with turn indicators, rear defogger with wiper and several other add-ons on the outside. Inside the cabin, the Etios Cross looks more up-market and feature-rich with piano black shade, sporty seat fabric with white stitch & log, 2 Din audio system with bluetooth, Aux-in and USB compatibility and leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls given on it. The Etios Cross will be offered with three engine options- 1.5-litre petrol, 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel, capable of producing 88bhp, 78bhp and 67hp, respectively.

2014 Toyota Corolla Altis

Toyota has already stopped the production of the old Corolla Altis, and the facelifted version will soon be launched as a replacement. Since, the car was unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February, we know the changes it has received both inside and out. With a 100mm longer wheelbase than the old version, the 2014 Corolla Altis measures 2700mm in wheelbase, thus offers more space to its occupuants. The new features that the car receives are push-button start, LED headlamps paddle shifters, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, reverse camera with sensor, a 7.1 inches touch-screen infotainment system and few others. Retaining the old 1.8-litre dual VVT-I petrol and 1.4-litre D-4D diesel engines, the car will be unchanged, mechanically.
