Two-Wheeler Sales March 2022: Honda Registers 2.8 Per Cent Growth Over Last Month

- Honda registeres 2.8 per cent overall growth over last month.
- Honda recorded 8.3 per cent growth in domestic sales over February
- The exports grew by 58 percent in FY2021-22 over FY2020-21
Honda registered a sale of 3,21,343 units in the month of March 2022. The motorcycle manufacturer also marked 20 years in India this year, and crossed the milestone of selling over 5 crore motorcycles in the country in the past 2 decades during the FY2021-22. Honda 2Wheelers India sold 3,09,549 units in the country in March 2022 while it exported 11,794 units, reaching the total of 3,21,343 units. While the domestic sales saw a spike of 8.3 per cent over last month, the exports for the Japanese bike manufacturer dipped by 56.2 per cent over February, bringing the cumulative sales growth down to 2.8 per cent over last month.

Commenting on the company's sales figures over FY2021-22, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, "FY'21-22 was a special year as we celebrated 5 crore customers' iconic landmark which is a testimony of India's love & trust in Brand Honda. Further delighting over 1 crore customers, Honda's Shine brand has yet again fortified its leadership in the 125cc segment."
"Unlocking HMSI's exports capabilities in international markets, we continue to move ahead with reinforced positivity. We look forward to an upward growth trajectory for the coming fiscal year", he added.

Honda 2Wheelers India closed the FY2021-22 with 37,99,680 units sold, 3,30,852 of which were exports. This export figure was 58% higher than that of FY2020-21, while the domestic sales for the fiscal year stood at 34,68,828 units.
