The 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc SUV was launched in the country earlier this year. The SUV first came to India in March 2020. Despite being a Completely Built Unit or CBU model, the first batch of 1000 units was sold out in less than a year. The SUV comes as a single variant powered by a 1.5-litre TSI EVO petrol engine. The motor is tuned to produce 147 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The SUV is priced in India at Rs. 21.35 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Jeep Compass:

The Jeep Compass is one of the most features rich SUVs in this segment. It is available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines - a 1.4-litre Multi-air petrol and a 2.0-litre Multi-jet diesel engine. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, a 9-speed torque converter and a 7-speed DCT automatic unit. It is priced between Rs. 17.19 lakh and Rs. 28.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hyundai Tucson:

The Hyundai Tucson facelift went on sale in India earlier this year. The SUV comes with the brand's Bluelink connected car technology, which is also available on Hyundai's new-age cars. It sports considerable upgrades including styling tweaks, a revised powertrain and new transmission options. Prices of the SUV start from Rs. 22.57 lakh, going up to Rs. 27.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Citroen C5 Aircross:

The Citroen C5 Aircross was launched in April this year, and it kickstarted the French carmaker's innings in the Indian car market. The SUV comes to India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit and is locally assembled at the company's manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. It is powered by a 2.0-litre 175 bhp oil burner. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It is priced in between Rs. 29.90 lakh and Rs. 31.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
