The company has been a bit aggressive this year in the Indian market by launching its XC90, V40 cross country petrol variant, V40 hatch and now the S60's petrol avatar. The company sold 1,200 units in 2014-15 with a market share of 3.5 per cent; it is now looking at a market share of 10 per cent by 2020. Currently Volvo Auto India has 15 dealerships across the country.
The company will also bring new range of products next year and sees no immediate plans of setting up a manufacturing plant in the country.
Mr Tom Von Bonsdorff, MD, Volvo Auto India, said, "India is one of the fastest growing markets for Volvo. An array of recent launches - XC90, V40 Cross Country petrol, V40, and now the S60 T6 petrol, will add a positive thrust to the brand's presence in India."
He also confirmed that Volvo Auto India will not be participating in the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo scheduled for February next year.
