The plan to bring new cars to the Indian market has been on Tata's agenda for a long time now and finally at the Auto Expo we see them coming out with some brilliant plans. Among that long list of cars is the Zest compact sedan. Based on the Tata Manza, the Zest is a sub-4 metre sedan which looks modern, elegant and unlike any cars we've seen from the Tata stable.
This is not the replacement to the Indigo CS but we guess, that eventually that will be the plan. The Indigo CS will continue to be sold alongside the Zest, once it's launched. The Zest will also get the Revotron 1.2T under the hood, while the 1.3-litre Multi-jet sourced from Fiat, will also do duty on the Zest.
Tata Motors plans to launch the car in Diwali. The company also said that from this year on, they plan to launch a new car every year.
