2015 Ford Mustang GT Will Deliver 435 Horses

The 2015 Ford Mustang has been one of the most eagerly awaited cars in Ford's recent history. The Blue Oval had revealed the car earlier this year, it had been tight-lipped about the pony car's specs. Not any more though, for Ford has finally announced the specs for this iconic car. The 5.0-litre V8, which will breathe life into the Mustang GT, is good for 435bhp and 542Nm.
Other engine options include the 2.3-litre turbocharged EcoBoost and the 3.7-litre V6. The 2.3-litre 4-cylinder EcoBoost is rated at 310bhp and 434Nm and is the first turbocharged Mustang since the 1986 SVO. Just so you know, Ford designed this 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine specifically for the 2015 Mustang.
Features of the Mustang's EcoBoost engine:
a. Forged-steel crankshaft
b. Piston-cooling jets
c. Steel piston ring carriers
d. Premium bearing materials
e. Upgraded valve seat materials
f. Forged-steel connecting rods
g. High-pressure die-cast aluminum cylinder block with ladder-frame bearing caps
h. Deep-sump, die-cast aluminum oil pan

Scott Makowski, EcoBoost powertrain engineering manager, said, "This EcoBoost engine delivers the healthy output Mustang drivers expect, regardless of the car's speed. It delivers where a Mustang driver expects it to - with a broad, flat torque curve and great driveability under any conditions." Moving on, the 3.7-litre V6 puts out 300bhp and 380Nm; the power is slightly less than the 2014 version's figure of 305bhp.
There is little doubt that the company has refurbished the Mustang considerably for 2015; it gets sturdier brakes, a new suspension with an independent rear setup, and more interior space among other features. That said, there had been widespread speculations about the Mustang putting on weight due to its new technologies. Turns out, they were mere speculations after all. The lightest model of the lot is the EcoBoost with an automatic transmission, and the rest of the lineup sports similar proportions.
