Piaggio launches the Vespa S at Rs 74,414

Highlights
Piaggio today launched the all-new Vespa S. After the Vespa LX125 and VX125, they have moved to bring in the Vespa S which was first introduced at the Auto Expo this year.
The company has priced the scooter at Rs. 74,414 (ex-showroom Pune). For that price you get a scooter that is retro in styling, with the classic rectangular headlamp (which we've seen on bikes from the 1970's), the instrument cluster that comprises an analogue speedometer, fuel-gauge and digital-clock, apart from other warning lights and not to forget the white piping on the saddle of the bike.
The mechanicals have been taken straight from the other Vespas and there is no change in that department. The Vespa S gets the four-stroke, 125cc, single-cylinder and air cooled engine as which churns out 10.06bhp @ 7500rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT transmission system which makes for a better ride.
A Vespa-signature monocoque steel chassis, single-side hydraulic front shock absorber and rear monoshock are seen on this new scooter. Though sold at a premium price, Piaggio thinks that it will be able to garner interest from the youth, who will be able to associate with a product that is classy and yet beautiful to look at.
The company plans to introduce more scooters from the Vespa stable and will soon announce their plans for the Indian market.
