2025 Renault Triber Variants Explained: Which One Should You Buy?

- The 2025 Triber comes with cosmetic updates and new features
- The Renault Triber packs the same 1.0 petrol engine as before
- The Triber Emotion trim is the only one that gets the option for an AMT
If you’re looking for a 7-seater family car on a budget, chances are the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the first one that comes to mind. But what if you want something under ₹8 lakh and don’t really want to go for a Maruti? Well, that’s where the Renault Triber comes in. Launched about six years ago, it was Renault’s answer to the growing demand for a compact, practical, and affordable MPV. Built under four metres, it offered space, flexibility, and a design suited for modern Indian families.
Fast forward to 2025, and Renault has given the Triber a much-needed update with new styling, more features, and the new corporate logo. But are these updates enough to keep it relevant? Let’s find out.
2025 Renault Triber: Overview
Renault has also changed the variant naming for 2025. The familiar RXT and RXL badges are gone. In their place are new trims called Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion. Under the hood, the formula remains the same. You still get a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. However, the AMT is available only on the top-end Emotion variant.
Triber Authentic – Basics Done Right
The entry-level Authentic variant is basic but offers the essentials. On the outside, it gets the new chrome grille, body-coloured bumpers and skid plates, wheel arch cladding, and projector headlamps. However, 14-inch steel wheels look a bit small, and the ORVMs are manually adjustable.
Inside, the layout remains familiar with a three-row setup featuring a reclining, folding, and tumbling second row and removable third-row Easy Fix seats. There are also LED cabin lights and new all-black woven upholstery. In terms of features, you get the basics such as manual AC, a digital instrument cluster, tilt-adjustable steering, power windows on all doors, and remote central locking.
Safety is a major highlight. Every variant, including the Authentic, comes with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, traction control, hill-start assist, ESC, tyre pressure monitoring, and rear parking sensors. All seats get 3-point seatbelts with reminders, and the driver’s seat belt comes with pre-tensioners and load limiters.
Price: ₹5.76 lakh (ex-showroom)
Gearbox: Manual Only
Triber Evolution – Adds More Comfort
(In addition to what Authentic gets)
Move up to the Evolution variant and you’ll find no change on the exterior, except for the addition of full wheel covers. However, the cabin gets a bit more feature-rich and packs in a lot more equipment.
There’s an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 4-speaker sound system, rear AC vents with blower controls, a rear-view camera, and grab handles for easier access to the rear rows. Safety features include are the same.
Price: ₹6.64 lakh (ex-showroom)
Gearbox: Manual Only
Triber Techno – The Sweet Spot
(In addition to what Evolution gets)
The Techno trim is where the Triber starts to feel more complete. It brings both visual and functional upgrades that make it the most balanced option in the range.
Outside, it gets chrome highlights on the bumper, glossy black ORVMs and door handles, and usable roof rails that can carry up to 50 kg. The wheels, which are a size bigger at 15-inchs, come with black wheel covers that look like alloys, and also help the car look better proportioned. The ORVMs are electrically adjustable and include integrated turn indicators.
Inside, the cabin feels more upmarket with dual-tone black and greige upholstery, an upper glovebox, steering-mounted controls, a day/night IRVM, rear wiper and washer, and a vanity mirror for the front passenger.
Price: ₹7.32 lakh (ex-showroom)
Gearbox: Manual Only
Triber Emotion – Fully Loaded
(In addition to what Techno gets)
The top-spec Emotion variant brings in all the premium touches. It gets LED headlamps and taillamps, LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, auto headlamps, auto-folding ORVMs, and a dual-tone roof.
The features list sees the addition of cruise control, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, a driver armrest, cooled glovebox, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and two additional tweeters for improved sound. There’s also a one-touch up driver window and a rear defogger.
Additional safety features include front parking sensors, follow-me-home headlamps, and a driver attention monitor.
| 2025 Renault Triber | Price (ex-showroom) |
| Emotion MT | ₹7.91 lakh |
| Emotion MT Dual-Tone | ₹8.12 lakh |
| Emotion AMT | ₹8.39 lakh |
| Emotion AMT Dual-Tone | ₹8.60 lakh |
Verdict
The Renault Triber remains one of the most practical and affordable 7-seaters you can buy today. The 2025 update makes it feel more polished, better equipped, and safer than before.
The lower variants cover the basics well, but it’s the Emotion trim that truly completes the package with premium features, added safety, and the option of an AMT.
If you want the most value without going over budget, the Techno variant is the smart pick. But if you want the Triber at its best, the Emotion variant is the one to go for.
