2016 Morocco Rally: CS Santosh Finishes 26th, Ahead Of Aravind In Day 2

Considered as a stepping stone to Dakar, the OiLibya Rally of Morocco 2016 is underway and Indian riders CS Santosh (Hero MotoSports) and Aravind KP (Sherco-TVS) have been steadily moving up on the leaderboard. Considered as a stepping stone to Dakar, the OiLibya Rally of Morocco 2016 is underway and Indian riders CS Santosh (Hero MotoSports) and Aravind KP (Sherco-TVS) have been steadily moving up on the leaderboard. The second stage saw the riders cover a distance of 291 km, starting from the ocean side and into the dunes.

As the riders move deeper in the Moroccan desert, the first two stages of the rally have already been completed, and at the end of stage 2, Aravind KP has moved up on the rankings and is placed at 24th in the 450 class, while his overall ranking stands at 27th on the leaderboard improving by places over stage 1. The FIM rank including the quad bike is at 25th.

Meanwhile, team Sherco-TVS' other rider Juan Pedrero currently stands at 11th in the 450cc class, while Adrien Metge stands at 17th in the same class. Aravind KP, who debuts in Dakar next year, is looking to improve his performance and climb up the rankings.

Badged as the fastest Indian, CS Santosh is making remarkable improvement as well in the Moroccan rally and ended Stage 2 at 24th place, while his overall ranking stands at 26th, just a shade ahead of the other Indian rider, registering a total time of 4hr30m50s. Teammate Joaquim Rodrigues ended the second stage at 14th.

Being held from October 1 to 7, there are three more stages remaining in the rally and and will see the riders complete a total of distance of 1885 km in Morocco; of which, 1317 km are special stages.
