2019 BMW 3 Series Spied Testing; Shows New Tech Friendly Cabin

- The 2019 BMW 3 Series will be revealed next year
- The styling will be evolutionary on the new generation BMW 3 Series
- The new BMW 3 Series will also be lighter than the current model
The BMW 3 Series is one of the sportier sedans out there and is heading towards the end of its current life cycle. After the new generation BMW 7 and t Series, it is time for the 3 to receive multiple upgrades. The next generation BMW 3 Series will be making its debut sometime next year as a 2019 model and was spied testing recently in a near production avatar. The new spy shots give a clearer idea of what to expect from the all-new model that will take on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, Jaguar XE and the likes.

(The 2019 BMW 3 Series will be lighter than the current model thanks to the new platform)
The 2019 BMW 3 Series test mule carries a host of production parts including the headlamps. The headlight cluster looks visibly larger than the current model and you can also make out the hexagonal projector lenses, while the grille is wider as well. The design cues seem have taken inspiration from the larger 5 and 7 Series, with the overall styling being sharper and more evolutionary. Expect a similar stance on the new 3 Series that will also boast of wider LED taillights seeker looking body panels and wider dimensions as well.

(The 2019 BMW 3 Series sports an digitial instrument console)
In addition, a major upgrade will be seen in the cabin that is all set to go high-tech on the next generation BMW 3 Series. The infotainment system is all-new and has been integrated into the dashboard, while the instrument console is completely digital. The air vents too are now slimmer than the older rectangular units, while the number of buttons have seen a drastic reduction in the cabin. Nevertheless, there is a healthy mix of old and new in the cabin that should be the conservatives and tech gurus happy.

(The 2019 3 Series is likely to borrow features from the new 5 and 7 Series)
It will be too early to talk about the list of features on the 2019 BMW 3 Series. However, we do expect to see a host of tech wizardry including advanced driver assist functions, and possibly gesture control as well. The 2019 3 Series will be based on the all-new CLAR platform that also underpins the new 7 and 5 Series. The model will certainly make the new 3 lighter and more agile. This, should keep the driving dynamics fun, much like the current one.
