2019 Range Rover Sport Range Unveiled In India; Prices Start At Rs. 99.48 Lakh

Land Rover India has unveiled the 2019 Range Rover Sport in the country. The 2019 Range Rover Sport is priced at Rs. 99.48 lakh, and the flagship Range Rover is priced at Rs. 1.74 crore onwards (ex-showroom). The new models are a part of the 10 new launches the carmaker has planned for the 2018-19 fiscal. The updated Range Rover and Range Rover Sport were first showcased late last year, while order books for the luxury SUV in India opened in April this year. The 2019 Range Rover Sport facelift comes with a host of cosmetic updates and the option of a plug-in hybrid version for the international markets, while borrowing several cues and technologies from the Velar. We have already driven the new Range Rover Sport in the UK and did come back quite impressed.

Exterior changes on the 2019 Range Rover include the new and sleeker looking grille that adds to the plush look of the SUV along with the Matrix LED headlamps with daytime running l ights. The SUV also comes with sequential illuminating indicators now. The front bumper has been tweaked as well and sits lower as well, feeding more air to cool brakes. At the side, gill fans now have four slots and are finished in brushed silver, while there is the new Byron blue and Rossello Red paint options available as well. In addition to the new alloy wheel design, the new Range Rovers also get a tweaked rear bumper that houses twin-exhausts.

The interior on the 2018 Range Rover line-up gets major revisions and is now a lot more tech loaded than its predecessor. The Touch Pro Duo screens have been carried over from the new Velar and the system comes with two new touchscreen systems and provide access to a host of controls ranging from navigation, music to the Terrain Response system. You also get gesture control but the system does miss out on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options.
The new Range Rover also comes with new and optional Executive seating in four member aircraft styled layout. The seats are wider and plusher for better comfort and also come with the new hot stone massage function.

Under the hood, the 2019 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport draw power from the 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 255 bhp and 600 Nm of peak torque. There's also the 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 diesel that produces 335 bhp and 740 Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine options include the 3.0-litre Supercharged V6 that makes 335 bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque, while the range-topping version uses the 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 with 518 bhp and 625 Nm of peak torque on offer. All the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Land Rover has moved more upmarket with the 2019 Range Rover and the new models take on the Bentley Bentayga and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The SUV also competes against the Lexus LX570 in this space.
