Cosmetic upgrades will be aplenty on the 2022 Aprilia SR 160
The updated Aprilia SR 160 will get a new face replacing the existing design that's been around since 2016. The slightly curvy headlamp will make for a sharper, full-LED unit. The handlebar cowl has been redesigned as well and gets air-scoops like recesses. The single-seat unit has been replaced with split-seats that are likely to get new cushioning, while the grab rail is larger than before.
The teaser sketch shows little changes to the rear, while the model is expected to get a fully-digital instrument console replacing the dated analogue cluster on the current model. The unit could also come with Bluetooth connectivity on the same lines as the Aprilia SXR 160 and other Vespa scooters.

The LED headlamp will come with integrated DRLs
Power is likely to come from the same 160 cc, air-cooled, three-valve engine that will continue to deliver 10.84 bhp and 11.6 Nm. The sporty scooter is expected to continue using telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear, while braking performance will come from a front disc with single-channel ABS. The SR 160 is presently priced at Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), and the model could see a marginal price hike.
