- The model is expected to retain the same mechanicals and hardware
- The Aprilia SR 160 is currently priced from Rs. 1.06 lakh (ex-showroom)
Piaggio India has begun accepting pre-bookings for the new and updated Aprilia SR 160 ahead of its launch soon. Dealerships are now accepting bookings for the new model while customers can also pre-book the sporty scooter on the company's website. The Aprilia SR160 gets its first big update with a new front design that promises an even sportier look than before. The updated design will also extend to the Aprilia SR125 and the Carbon models in the company's stable.

While the overall silhouette remains the same, the 2022 Aprilia SR160 will get a new LED headlight replacing the halogen unit on the old model. The new headlamp design looks sharper and more modern than before. It also looks more upmarket on the scooter. Other upgrades likely will include a Bluetooth-enabled instrument console with features borrowed from the SXR160. Aprilia India is also likely to introduce new colours and graphics on the scooter as part of the visual revamp.

The front apron will get a completely new look with a LED headlamp on the Aprilia SR 160
The Aprilia SR160 is expected to retain its mechanical underpinnings with power coming from the same 160.03 cc single-cylinder engine that develops 10.84 bhp at 7,600 rpm and 11.6 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The model gets telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking performance comes from a front disc with single-channel ABS. The SR125 gets a Combi-braking system instead.
