- Gets Bluetooth-enabled TFT dash from the 457 twins.
- Now offered in RS 457-inspired colour options.
Aprilia has officially launched the SR 160’s successor, the SR 175, in India updating its sporty scooter portfolio. Priced at Rs 1.26 lakh, ex-showroom, it now comes with a more powerful motor, new features and more.
While there is no change in the design of the scooter, it comes in two new RS 457-inspired liveries - Matte Prismatic Dark and Glossy Tech White, along with distinctive decals. However, the biggest visible update is the new 5.5-inch colour TFT dash that is borrowed from the 457 twins. The layout is different with options to pick, and is Bluetooth-enabled.

The next big change is the powertrain which has been bored to an increased displacement of 174.7 cc which now registers 13.08bhp at 7,200rpm and a peak torque of 14.14Nm at 6,000rpm, a 2 bhp and 0.7 Nm hike over the SR 160. Gearbox continues to be a CVT unit.
In terms of cycle parts, the scooter’s frame is the same and the suspension setup continues to be a telescopic fork and preload adjustable monoshock layout. As before, the scooter rides on 14-inch wheels with 120-section tyres, while braking is handled by a disc-drum setup, assisted with single-channel ABS.
In terms of competition, the updated Aprilia SR 175 is now closer to its competition, the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160.
