Bajaj Discover 150 vs Yamaha SZ-RR vs Honda CB Unicorn - Spec Comparison

The already competitive entry-level 150cc segment became even more fierce post the launch of Bajaj Discover 150cc. The fact that over 50,000 units were sold within two months of its launch says a lot about the popularity that the bike has gained in a very short span of time. Recently, Yamaha launched the SZ-RR Version 2.0 in the Indian market to take on the Discover 150. While the SZ-RR received no design updates, it gets FZ-Fi's 149cc engine albeit with a carburetor. The previous version had a 153cc engine, which was the detuned version of the FZ's engine. The third bike we have picked for this comparison is the Honda CB Unicorn which is also an equally popular bike in the segment.
Pricing
Since the comparison involves entry-level 150cc bikes, pricing plays quite a crucial role here. And that is, probably, the reason behind the massive response received by Bajaj Discover 150cc. Priced at around Rs 51,000, the Discover 150 is the most affordable bike in the segment, followed by Honda CB Unicorn at Rs 63,000 and Yamaha SZ-RR at Rs 65,000. (All prices are ex-showroom)
Design
Coming to the design, except for the Discover 150cc, which is an all new product in the segment, there is nothing to talk about the other two bikes. The Discover 150 resembles the Discover 125 except the new body graphics and colours. The bike features an analogue instrument console and 10-spoke alloy wheels.
Engine
Despite the smallest engine of the lot, i.e. a 144.8cc engine, the Discover 150 offers the highest power at 14.29bhp. Other two bikes, Honda CB Unicorn and Yamaha SZ-RR, are powered by 149cc engines that are good for 13.3bhp and 12bhp, respectively. In terms of torque, all three motorcycles are almost equal.
Dimensions
With a length of 2095mm, the Honda CB Unicorn is the longest bike of the lot. The Discover 150 is the shortest of the three at 2038mm. The Yamaha SZ-RR is around 2050mm long. The CB Unicorn is also the heaviest bike of the lot at 146kg, followed by SZ-RR at 134kg and the Discover 150 at 132kg.
