- Rapido is India's largest bike taxi operator
- Rapido Auto was launched in 2020 and has more than 1.5 lakh autos
- Customers can book bike taxis and autos on the Rapido mobile app
India's largest bike taxi platform Rapido has expanded its auto service to Bengaluru, taking the service to a total of 26 cities across India. Rapido has already on-boarded close to 20,000 autos for the launch and plans to extend the count to more than 50,000 by the end of the year. The bike taxi operator has completed one year since it launched auto services, and has received an overwhelming response across 25 cities. Initially, the auto service was launched in 14 key cities across 10 states in October 2020, and was extended to 11 more cities. Rapido currently has over 1.5 lakh autos across the country on its platform.

On the launch in Bengaluru, Shravya Reddy, VP, Rapido, said, "We are excited to bring Rapido Auto to Bengaluru after receiving a tremendous response across the country. Since the onset of COVID-19, autos have emerged as the preferred mode of commute in addition to bike taxis. Auto service is highly penetrated but very scattered. There's high offline competition and with low demand, auto drivers tend to charge high street premiums. Customers tend to shift to other modes of commute because of uncertainties. We are aiming to strike a balance between demand and supply - bringing in more reliability and convenience for both Captains and customers."

Rapido is a bike taxi service spread widely across India from Tier I to Tier III cities. The Rapido app allows customers to book bike taxis. The Rapido Auto service has been subsequently introduced after the huge demand in bike taxis. The company uses both pertrol-powered bikes with internal combustion engines, as well as electric scooters for its bike taxi service.
