BMW 320d Edition Sport Launched In India Priced At Rs. 38.60 Lakh

- The BMW 320d Edition Sport is now the top-of-the-line 3 Series model
- Powered by a 2-litre Twin Turbo diesel engine it makes 188 bhp and 400 Nm
- 0-100 kmph is achieved in 7.2 seconds and top speed is 250 kmph
Adding a new variant to its top-selling 3 Series range, BMW India today launched the new BMW 320d Edition Sport in India priced at Rs. 38.60 Lakh (ex-showroom, India). Essentially the top-of-the-line 3 Series, the new 320d will be locally produced at BMW India's Chennai plant and is currently available at all BMW dealerships across India. The company claims that the new BMW 320d Edition Sport will further amplify the sporty and dynamic character of the BMW 3 Series.

Powering the new 3 Series is the same 2-litre TwinPower Turbo diesel engine that has been tuned to offer better power delivery and responsiveness. The 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine offers a maximum of 188 bhp and develops a peak torque of 400 Nm at 1750 - 2500 rpm. The oil burner is mated to BMW's tried and tested eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission that propels the car from 0 -100 kmph in just 7.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 250 kmph. The transmission is aided by steering mounted paddle shifter for better driving pleasure. BMW claims that the engine offers a fuel efficiency of 22.69 kmpl, which is quite impressive for a car of this class.
To further enhance the driving pleasure, the BMW 320d Edition Sport also comes with launch control function as standard. Additionally, you also get to choose between different driving modes to suit the driving conditions - Comfort, ECO PRO, Sport, and Sport+, using the driving experience control switch. Other features include - auto start-stop, brake-energy regeneration, electronic power steering, 50:50 weight distribution.
On the exterior, the BMW 320d Edition Sport gets high-gloss black treatment along the grille, headlamps and bumper. The car is available in Alpine White as a non-metallic colour, Black Sapphire, and Mediterranean Blue as metallic colours. The cabin, on the other hand, comes with a premium quality interior offered in a range of fine upholstery combinations that include - Sensatec Black/Red highlight, Black and Sensatec Veneto Beige, Veneto Beige. The cabin also gets BMW ConnectedDrive features such as - iDrive controller and a 6.5-inch colour display with CD drive, BMW Apps, Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB/AUX IN connectivity, rear view camera along with park distance control (PDC).
The new BMW 320d Edition Sport is also high on safety as well. The feature list includes - six air bags, ABS with brake assist, dynamic stability control (DSC) with dynamic traction control (DTC), and cornering brake control (CBC). The car also offers side-impact protection, ISOFIX child seat mounting, Run-flat tyres (RFT) with reinforced sidewalls, emergency spare wheel, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensor.
