BMW India Confirms 10 Special Edition M, M Sport Models For 2022

- Special Editions to include CBU imports and locally assembled models
- Will be based on M Sport and full-blown M Models
- Model will feature unique paint finishes among other cosmetic tweaks
BMW is set to bring in a number of special edition models to India as the company celebrates the 50 year anniversary of BMW M. BMW India has confirmed that it will be launching 10 special editions this year based on its full-blown M cars and M Sport variants of some cars. The company has also said that the mix will include a line-up of locally assembled and CBU imports.
“On our 50th anniversary, we are celebrating five decades of our fascinating history with with adrenaline-filled launches across the product portfolio throughout the year. BMW India will be launching 10 Special Editions, spanning across locally produced as well as CBUs, focusing on M models and M Sport variants,” the company said in a statement.
BMW and BMW M has globally revealed a few special editions to commemorate 50 years with the most notable being the recently revealed M4 CSL. The company has also revealed special Edition 50 Jahre based on the regular M3 and M4 for select markets. While it remains to be seen if we could get the stripped-down CSL in limited numbers, the company is expected to launch the Jahre Edition M4 in India with the confirmation that the special editions would get “exclusive design features and paint finishes”.

Moving to the M Sport models BMW recently revealed a ColourVision Edition for the 2 Series Gran Coupe and 1 Series for global markets based on the M Sport models. While we no longer have a 1 Series on sale in the country, the 2 Series Gran Coupe ColourVision edition could be considered for India. While not a Jahre Edition, BWM says that the ColourVision models do get the option of Jahre Edition badging along with some BMW M-based paint finishes. As with the M4 Edition 50 Jahre, the ColourVision editions get new paint finishes and cosmetic tweaks over the regular M Sport models.

Over the course of the coming months, BMW and BMW M are expected to reveal more special edition models in global markets including a hardcore M3 CS and M's bespoke XM plug-in hybrid high-performance SUV.
Special edition aside, BMW is also set to launch some new models in its line-up with the all-electric i4 set to launch soon. Also expected
