BMW M8 Convertible Spied Testing In Europe

- The M8 Convertible could make its debut towards the end of this year
- It could get a 4.4-litre biturbo unit, making more than 600 bhp
- BMW M8 is also working on a coupe version of the M8
When the new BMW 8-Series makes its debut, it will also set the tempo for other models as well. Some models which are already being tested are the BMW M8 Coupe and the M8 Convertible. In fact, spyshots of the M8 Convertible are already doing the rounds and from the looks of it, it is going to be a one seriously sexy and a good-looking drop-top car. The car has been spotted doing rounds at the Nurburgring with the top on and could makes its global debut before this year ends but will be launched only in 2019.

As far as the engine is concerned, the M8 could get a 4.4-litre biturbo V8 motor which will churn out at least 600 bhp if not more. This is the same engine that also does duty on the current gen M5. Expect the peak torque to be around 750 Nm or so, similar to that on the M5. The engine could be mated to an 8-speed transmission which will send the power to a rear-wheel biased all-wheel drive system. The photographs also show bigger disc brakes and bigger callipers along with massive alloy wheels as well.
(BMW M8 Convertible)The lower half of the car is similar to the M8 Coupe. The distinguishing features are the sharp LED headlamps along with the bent slats on the kidney-shaped grille. The roofline also stays more or less similar to that of the hardtop coupe, having a low-slung profile. The fabric roof here meets the boot in a graceful manner despite not being a hardtop. Expect the interior to be luxuriously appointed and offer a long list of features and exceptional comfort to the occupants.
