Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUV Begins Testing in India; Launching This Year

General Motors had recently announced that it will bring the Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV to the Indian market soon. The company has already started testing the car and we caught a glimpse on the car while it was undergoing testing and though heavily camouflaged, one can't help but notice the enormous size of the car.
The TrailBlazer is a full-fledged SUV that is based on General Motors' Colorado pick-up truck's ladder frame chassis. GM will bring the TrailBlazer to India via the CKD route and will be assembled at the company's Halol plant.
Because it will be a CKD, we can expect it to be price competitive and this will help it give tough competition ton the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero, and the upcoming new-gen Ford Endeavour.

The TrailBlazer will be powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. This engine is good for 180bhp and 470Nm of torque. One must note that the company will also offer the vehicle with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Talking about dimensions, the TrailBlazer is 4,878mm long, 1,902mm wide and 1,834mm high, and has a large wheelbase of 2,870mm. The list of safety features in this 7-seater SUV will include anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution system (EBD), electronic stability control, traction control, hill descent control, engine drag control, and airbags for driver and co-passenger among other provisions. GM plans to launch the TrailBlazer in the second half of this year
