Citroen C3 Hatchback Launch Today: Expected Price

Citroen is set to announce the prices for its much awaited made-in-India hatchback, the C3 on July 20, 2022. Based on the company’s CMP platform, the C3 will be Citroen's first model targeted at a mass market segment with key rivals including the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. The C3 is set to be one of three new models for the Indian market under the French carmaker’s C-Cubed programme with another two mass market models to follow.
While it's being billed as a hatchback, the C3 gets plenty of crossover design cues. Up front the design is unmistakably Citroen with the split headlamps and double chevron at the centre of the grille. The prominent central air vent and liberal use of black cladding and faux skid plate elements along with the upright stance add to the crossover look. Down the sides too there is plenty of body cladding around the base of the doors and wheel arches. At the rear too, the bumper features of black cladding along with the faux skid-plate element.
Inside, the cabin looks quite clean with the big highlight being the large landscape style 10.2-inch touchscreen replete with wireless Android Auto and CarPlay on the top model. The dashboard on the top model can additionally come with either orange or grey-coloured panel inserts depending on the exterior colour. In terms of equipment, the C3 will pack in kit such as manual air conditioning, front and rear power windows, keyless entry, digital instrument cluster, height adjustable driver seat, dual airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors to name a few. The C3 will be available in two variants Live and Feel and will come with a number of customisation options.
Citroen is offering two engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol mill. Both are three-cylinder units. The naturally aspirated petrol develops 81 bhp at 5,750 rpm and 115 Nm at 3,750 rpm and is available with a 5-speed manual while the turbo-petrol's output is 109 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 190 Nm at 1,750 rpm and can be had solely with a 6-speed manual. The naturally aspirated petrol will be available across both variants while the turbo-petrol is limited to the top-spec Feel.
Coming to the pricing, the C3 range is expected to start in the region of Rs 6 lakh for the base model. The fully-loaded turbo-petrol meanwhile is expected to be priced in the region of Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
