Datsun to woo women buyers with Go 'Women Edition'

In a bid to attract first-time women buyers of the country, Datsun India has introduced a special accessory package which turns a regular Go into a 'Women Edition'. The Go Women Edition will be offered with features like reverse parking sensor, reverse parking camera, rear and side curtains, parcel tray, cushion kit, mood light and body graphics, for which one will have to pay an extra amount. In addition, the Go Women Edition also has body decals.
Datsun Go was launched yesterday at a starting price of Rs 3.12 lakh, with the top-end variant costing Rs. 3.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). At this price point, Datsun Go competes against the Hyundai Eon, Maruti Alto K10 and Chevrolet Spark. While all the four trims launched by the company come with very basic features, the company is offering several accessories for exteriors and interiors at affordable prices.
Powering the Go is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which is also found under the Nissan Micra. However, in the case of Go, the engine has been tuned for more fuel efficiency, thus producing lesser power output. This engine has been claimed to return an impressive 20.63kmpl of mileage, along with offering the best-in-class power output of 68bhp.
Datsun Go will be sold through Nissan's dealerships across the nation.
