Following the debut of the next generation Monster 1200 at the 2013 edition of the Milan Motorcycle Show, Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has now added a mid-size entry for the third generation line-up of the iconic model. The company released the first images of the new model with quite the Bolognese ambience in order to underline the company's deep-rooted association with the city.

Though the company introduced the Monster over 20 years ago and has delivered over 290,000 units since then, it still manages to retain the essential characteristics of the original. For example, its style quotient, thanks to the Monster 1200's new chassis and muscular styling that was designed with superior components fully integrated with Ducati's latest technologies.

The new Monster 821 will be powered by the latest version of Ducati's successful 821 Testastretta engine. It brings together 112bhp of power and 89.3 Nm of torque with a lightweight 179.5kg package, thus accomplishing the ideal mix of minimalism and performance. The Monster 821 further combines 8-level traction control, 3-level ABS and 3-level Ride-by-Wire into Ducati's user-friendly, press-button Riding Modes. There is also the high-spec brakes, first-rate suspension along with snazzy components and best-yet ergonomics, effectively resulting in one of the most attractive mid-range Monster from the Italian manufacturer's stables ever.

This mid-range Monster is set to be available in Ducati dealerships from July 2014 onwards, where it will be offered in two variants, namely, the Monster 821 and the Monster 821 Dark. The former version is painted in Ducati red with red frame and black wheels, or star white silk with red frame and matte red wheels. Both, the red and white liveries, are equipped with colour-matched single-seat covers. Whereas, the Monster 821 Dark will be dressed in dark stealth with black frame and black wheels.
