Fiat Considering the 500X and L for India

Kevin Flynn, President and MD, Fiat India said that the company was optimistic about their growth in India and that is because there are new products coming to India. He also suggested that the 500X and L are under consideration for India, however, they are products that should be built in India as it will keep the price of the car in check.

The Fiat 500L is available in both 5 and 7 seat options globally and is the third member of the company's popular 500 range. The model that has been imported to India features a 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel unit that is good for 84bhp and 200Nm. The company also sells this vehicle with a 1.6-litre multijet diesel, though that might not be launched here. There might be a petrol model as well powered by the same 0.9-litre Twinair petrol (105bhp, 145Nm) that does duty on the global model.
The company already has a Compact SUV in its kitty in the form of an Avventura and with the 500L, which is well known in the international markets, it will be able to compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki, Honda and Renault in the MPV segment.
Another car that could make it to India is the 500X. The 500X comes out of the assembly line as the Jeep Renegade since both vehicles share the platform.

The Fiat 500X is a high-riding version in the 500 line-up. Now, this may not evoke emotions like Wow! but Fiat has tried to make the car look more appealing. Considering that the Jeep range that is coming to India next year will include the Renegade, we see no reason why Fiat won't bring in the 500X.
