Ford GT Holman Moody Edition Is The Last Heritage Edition GT

- Ford GT Holman Moody to debut at the New York Auto Show
- Gold and red livery based on the original 1966 Holman Moody GT40
- Will be available in limited numbers
Ford has revealed the final Heritage Edition GT – the Holman Moody Edition. Based on the Holman Moody MkII GT40 from 1966, the special edition celebrates the carmaker's iconic 1-2-3 finish at the '66 Le Mans. To that end, the GT40 is dressed in a gold and red livery in a throwback to the racecar along with featuring the number 5 on the doors, bonnet and rear spoiler. The special edition is the eighth Heritage edition based on the new GT and the third celebrating the MkII GT40.
As mentioned previously, the Homan Moody Edition wears the gold and red livery derived from the historic 1966 racecar. “Of all the Ford GT Heritage Edition liveries we've done, the Holman Moody Heritage Edition's can't-miss signature gold and red theme is an epic tribute to our 1966 Le Mans finish,” said Mike Severson, Ford GT program manager. “Inspired by one of the most well-known Ford GT40 race cars, this latest Ford GT honours the Holman Moody race team's know-how and ability to out-innovate global competitors.”

Aside from the racecar inspired livery, the GT40 Holman Moody Edition also gets design touches such as the exposed gloss finished carbon fibre used on the front splitter, side skirts, mirrors, engine louvres, rear diffuser and 20-inch wheels.
The cabin meanwhile too features the use of carbon fibre on the door sills and centre console. The seats and steering are upholstered in Alcantara while details such as the paddle shifters, instrument panel applique and seat cross braces are finished in gold.

Ford has not revealed any mechanical changes to the GT Holman Moody Edition.
The special edition Holman Moody Edition will be displayed alongside the iconic 1966 Holman Moody MkII GT40 at the New York Auto Show 2022. Ford has not revealed any details on the production numbers though the special edition is only available to approved Ford GT customers.
2022 is expected to be the last year of the current Ford GT with the model's production expected to end by the end of the year.
