Frankfurt 2017: Maserati Presents Its Upgraded Model Portfolio

- All models get subtle tweaks for designs and features
- New trims for a couple of models were also showcased
- There will be no mechanical changes in any of the models
Along with other manufacturers, Maserati too showcased its entire line-up, completely upgraded, at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The portfolio showcase included the Ghibli, Quattroporte, GranTurismo and the GranCabrio. All the models get various updates in terms of features and equipment. The Maserati Ghibli, will now be offered in two new variants of GranLusso and GranSport, which were already a part of the Quattroporte range. The Ghibli and the Quattroporte also get an upgraded 3.0-litre V6 petrol engines which feature the Integrated Vehicle Control System (IVCS), developed by Bosch.
(2018 Maserati GranCabrio)In addition, both the Maserati sedans will also get full LED adaptive lights which are anti-glare. These lights were specially developed for Maserati by a company called Magneti Marelli. The other updates include electric power steering (EPS) and new Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). A few tweaks to the design were also made for better aerodynamic performance. The new variants of the Ghibli also get upgraded interior and upholstery as well. The Ghibli is the best-selling vehicle in Maserati's history - with over 70,000 units sold in 70 countries since 2013.
(2018 Maserati Ghibli)Up next is the Maserati Levante, the company's first ever SUV, which was launched last year. The Levante too gets two new trims, which are the GranLusso and the GranSport for the model year 2018. The Maserati SUV too gets an electric power steering along with the ADAS package that includes features such as highway assist, blind spot assist, traffic sign recognition and so on.
(2018 Maserati Levante)Lastly, the GranTurismo and the GranCabrio models too get tweaks and updates which have improved aerodynamic design and get better ergonomics as well. The drag coefficient for the GranTurismo has reduced from 0.33 to 0.32 while the GranCabrio now has a drag coefficient of 0.33 instead of the earlier 0.35. The interior too has been updated with a new 8.4-inch touchscreen and a standard Harmon Kardon sound system.
