Harley-Davidson India to Launch New Motorcycle on Jan 27
Harley-Davidson India will be launching a new motorcycle later this month, according to communication sent out by the iconic motorcycle manufacturer. Harley-Davidson India is organising the Great Desert Ride from Jan 27-30, and the invite also mentions a new product launch during those days.

While Harley-Davidson India has refused to divulge what the new product will be, saying "it's a surprise", we have every reason to believe that the new product will be the replacement for either the Harley-Davidson SuperLow, or the Fat Boy Special, both of which were recently discontinued from Harley-Davidson India's product line-up.

According to our sources, a new, updated SuperLow is expected to be launched soon. The 2016 Harley-Davidson Super Low is not expected to get any updates in the powerplant, and will continue to use the same 883cc air-cooled, fuel-injected V-twin motor as the outgoing model, but the engine will be mounted on a new redesigned frame for better handling as well as new suspension, with the facility to adjust preload on the rear suspension.

2016 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Special
The other possibility is a replacement for the Fat Boy Special which falls under the 'Softail' family of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The outgoing Fat Boy Special is powered by a 1,690cc, air-cooled, V-twin engine that develops 133Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission.

So far, Harley-Davidson India is tight-lipped about disclosing anything about the "new product launch" but we are willing to wager that the new bike will be one of the two - either the SuperLow or the Fat Boy Special. We will of course be joining H-D India for the Great Desert Ride, so keep visiting carandbike.com for updates on Harley-Davidson motorcycles in India.
