Hindustan Motors To Get In The EV Business
Hindustan Motors which for decades was behind the iconic Ambassador in India since its founding in 1942 is reported getting into the EV business with electric two-wheelers as per a report by Gaadiwale.
India has been attracting investment in the electric two-wheeler space with the likes of Ola Electric, Hero, Bajaj, Ather, and TVS companies operating in the space. Reportedly, the grand old automotive company has partnered with an undisclosed European company.
The plan apparently is to not only develop electric two-wheelers but also electric cars, but the two-wheelers will come first. Currently, Hindustan Motors with its partner is working out investments and many announcements could happen as soon as February 2023.
The product launch, especially for the electric two-wheelers could happen as soon as the end of 2023.
