Honda Updates Commuter Range With CBS & ABS Ahead Of March 31 Deadline

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced the Combi Brake System (CBS) versions of the CB Shine, Navi and CD 110 Dream DX, along with the ABS-equipped CB Unicorn for the model year 2019. All two-wheelers have been updated to meet the upcoming safety regulations with the deadline set for March 31, 2019. While most of the Honda range is already equipped with the safety feature, these are the last of the models to get the safety systems to comply with the norms. The company first introduced CBS on its two-wheelers as early as 2009.

The 2019 Honda CB Unicorn 150 gets a single-channel ABS and cosmetic changes
The 2019 Honda CB Unicorn ABS version is priced at Rs. 78,815 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and gets a single-channel unit. The 2019 model also comes with other upgrades with tubeless tyres, revised metre console with blue illumination and seal chain for increased convenience and durability, according to the manufacturer. The mechanicals remain unchanged on the 2019 Honda CB Unicorn that draws power from the 149 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with 12.7 bhp and 12.8 Nm of peak torque on offer. The motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The addition of CBS is the only update on the 2019 Honda CB Shine
With the 2019 Honda CB Shine, the bike gets CBS as standard that is priced at Rs. 58,338 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike seems to get no cosmetic changes for the new year and continues to use the 124 cc single-cylinder motor with 10.16 bhp and 10.3 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The more expensive Honda CB Shine SP already gets the safety feature on offer.

The 2019 Honda CD Dream CBS continues to draw power from the 110 cc engine
The entry-level 2019 Honda CD110 Dream DX gets CBS too and is priced at Rs. 50,028 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Apart from safety tech, the 2019 CD Dream also gets new silver five-spoke alloy wheels, chrome handlebar and carrier, painted front fender and rear cowl, clear indicators and updated graphics.

The moto-scooter remains unchanged for the 2019 model year
Finally, the Honda Navi CBS is priced at Rs. 47,110 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and only gets the safety tech on offer. The moto-scooter remains the same for the new year using the Activa-derived 109 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with 8 bhp, and a CVT automatic on offer.
