How To Deep Clean A Car Interior At Home

- Hassle-free deep cleaning of your car with the bare minimum essentials
- leaning items include wipes, mini towels, and liquid soap solutions.
- A vacuum cleaner is also required for a thorough cleaning of the seats
As our car's exterior needs to be washed periodically to rid it of dust and grime, we should also be periodically cleaning the interiors of our cars to give them the much-needed sheen. However, oftentimes, deep cleaning of the interior can be a costly affair. On the other hand, if you do it by yourself, it's not only a nice workout with all the scrubbing and wiping; we also get scratch-free windows and dust-free seats at a substantially lower price.
Before commencing the cleaning activities, adorn any protective gear like glasses and gloves that you feel might be necessary. Taking out unnecessary trash—plastic bags, cups, paper—will be the first step.

Seats and Floor Mats
Remove the floor mats and vacuum clean them separately after shaking off the excess dust. Vacuum cleaning of the seats and floors will follow next. The mats can also be soaked in soap water, washed, and dried.

Interior Surfaces
Surfaces like the dashboard, steering wheel, and vents can be carefully cleaned with disinfectant wipes or with a cloth soaked in soap water. But care needs to be taken to ensure no extra liquid seeps into the electronic dials. Crevices can be cleaned using a fine brush. Cup holders can also be wiped.

Windows
For this, we will require a spray can that is filled with a soap solution and an extra-absorbent towel. Spraying the solution over the windows and windshield from within and then wiping them off with a towel can give a clean surface. Any extra droplets of water can then be wiped away with a dry towel or even a paper towel.

Stains
If the seats carry certain stains from food spills or because of pets, a simple homemade cleaning solution might suffice to get rid of those stains. Two cups of water, one cup of vinegar, and two tablespoons of dish soap can be mixed and poured into a spray bottle. Let the stained area soak up the solution for fifteen minutes, and then place a dry towel over the area to soak up the excess liquid. The stains are enormously reduced without having to rely on store-bought stain removers.
